This is a fun song about a sad crocodile named Niles. He can't find his friends and that has caused him to lose his smile. Niles walks to five different places and at each place he makes a new friend that helps him look for his other friends. He also walks a mile between each place so your students can do math skills of adding a mile to each place plus adding a new friend to help him look. Feel free to add your own actions to the fun song about making new friends!!
This zip files comes with the sheet music in lead sheet format with chords, lyrics, mp3 backing track, mp3 full recording.
I walked to the park to look around
Then I got stuck on the Merry Go Round
A nice little boy stopped the Merry Go Round, and said:
“Why’s a crocodile on the playground?”
Verse 2 (Chant)
The two of us walked to the candy store
Looking for my friends as we walked through the door.
We heard a guy say as we opened the candy drawer.
“Why’s a crocodile in my store?”
Verse 3 (Chant)
The three of us walked to the ice cream shop.
Looking for my friends and a soda pop.
We started to order but the lady said stop.
“Why’s a crocodile in my shop?”
Verse 4 (Chant)
The four of us looked up in the trees
All we could see was a great big bee.
I heard the bee buzz and say to me.
“Why’s a crocodile in my tree?”
The five of us went to the gym.
Looking for my friends Jim and Tim.
I heard my friends yell after they took a swim.
“Hey there Niles where have you been?”
