These four Art Appreciation lessons are on four works of art that were created by the Italian Renaissance artists for whom the Ninja Turtles were named. Two of the lessons refer to the Bible due to the subject matter of the artwork.
They include artwork and questions (along with answers) which cause the student to look closely at the painting. Also included are suggested activities for further learning that relate to the painting, a small introduction to the artist, and the art period and/or movement identified.
Claude Monet said, “Everyone discusses my art and pretends to understand, as if it were necessary to understand, when it is simply necessary to love.”
This is the concept for which this art APPRECIATION lesson was modeled. The questions encourage the student to look closely at the painting’s detail and enjoy its beauty. The student learns without even realizing it.
