Includes the following three primary source reading documents with DBQs:
* Watergate scandal reading: Transcript of White House conversation between President Nixon and H.R. Halderman, Elliot Richardson's resignation letter, Nixon's third speech on Watergate, Supreme Court opinion on Nixon v. U.S., House Articles of Impeachment text.
* War Powers Resolution: Relevant segments from U.S. Constitution and Federalist Papers, Text of War Powers Resolution, Nixon Veto message, speech by Sen. Jacob Javits.
* Church and Pike Committee Hearings on Intelligence Surveillance: Court opinion in Olmstead v. U.S., Brandeis dissent in Olmstead v. U.S., COINTELPRO letter to Martin Luther King, Testimony of Ret. CIA Counterintelligence Chief James Angleton, Speech of Sen. John Tower, Testimony of NSA Director Lew Allen.
Each of these three readings makes for a great homework assignment and subsequent class discussion on U.S. History in the 1970s under President Nixon. Each document contains 9-12 questions, which are a mix of fact-based questions to determine the reading has been completed and potential DBQs in preparation for an AP exam.
Also contains a unit Study Guide with Vocabulary list and Practice Test worksheet.
Note: These readings along with more than 70 others are included in my book “Primary Source American History,” along with two mock trials, a mock congress and several dozen projects review worksheets. If you like this (or the free readings on my store), consider getting the complete set.
