This resource is an illustrated instructions sheet for the cooperative game No-Elimination Simon Says. This is the cooperative version of the classic Simon Says game. But in this version, no one is eliminated from the game! To do this, the class is divided into two groups and each group runs a parallel game. If a child acts out a command that Simon does not tell them to do, instead of being side-lined from play, the child merely joins the parallel game proceeding in the other part of the classroom. In this fun and cooperative re-make, no one bears the embarrassment of “losing” or being singled out for making a mistake. No wonder that cooperative games such as this one build confidence, inclusion, and a positive classroom community. The game is excerpted from Suzanne Lyons’ new book The Cooperative Games Bullying Prevention Program. Illustrations are by the author.
