This project encompasses several different skills and concepts that I taught during my Business Math class: statistics, Excel, consumer habits, and credit cards. After learning the basics of Excel and credit cards, students complete this guided project individually.
First, students learn how to write valid survey questions and how to administer a bias free survey. As a class, we wrote multiple choice survey questions about credit cards. Some examples include "How many credit cards do you have?" and "How much credit card debt do you have?"
I administered the survey by using Google Forms and sent the link out through email. Students could also use a more traditional paper and pencil survey. We also opened this survey up to our school staff (one of our questions asked the age of the survey participant).
Students then used the result of the survey to create a digital presentation that combined their knowledge about credit cards, analysis from the survey, and graphs created in Excel.
Included in this project pack:
-Direction Sheet & Grading Sheet
-Writing Good Survey Questions Discussion Starter
