Product Description

Author’s purpose is a skill that students should understand. I have found it difficult in the past to find activities to reinforce this skill, so this is what I have started to use in my classroom. These activities will teach and challenge your students. They will read a short statement or paragraph then decide if the author is trying to entertain, inform, or persuade them. They are great activities for in-class, homework, or to do in small groups.

Students will also be asked to explain their answer, which will challenge them even more to understand the skill. They will have to use their context clues to help them figure out how to answer the question. I found this helps them comprehend this skill and reinforce the skill.

If you like this worksheet or would like more like it that have to do with grammar, please see my TpT page for more. I hope you enjoy!! Please leave feedback on my page and earn TpT credit toward more purchases.
