This activity is meant as a warm up for the morning. Students practice different concepts and Skills such as being exposed to print, reading, writing, practicing letter formation, sound recognition, learning to follow directions and practicing number formation.
How to Use:
First as a class, individual or group of students will read along with you or read by self.
Next students fill in the blank dates as you read along.
Then, students circle which specialist they will attend today ( P.E, Music, or Library),
Next students trace and write the focus shape.
Then students find and color the focus shape.
Last students count and write the number of times they see the focus shape.
For the next set of morning messages. Students will practice graphing. Each page has a different graph for students to complete.
First students find and count each picture.
Next they fill in the graph with the corresponding picture name.
Students do this for all the following graphs.
You may differentiate as you see fit and the above instructions are not the only way to go about this activity. It can also be used during a center or with a group of students. The idea is students will gradually reach a time where they will not need your assistance and they will be able to complete this on their own.
