This activity was designed specifically for older students (3rd- 12th) who may decode text well and need the support of visual/written cues to promote verbally responding to questions, formulating questions, and participating in communication exchanges or turn-taking during conversation. Activity 1, Talk about your summer, provides vocabulary to assist the student to self-cue along with an option to write or dictate sentences. Activity 2, Would you rather . . . , provides the student with clickable choices that lead to written sentence stems. Activity 3, Photo Captions, focuses on practice with inferences and figurative language. These lessons are organized so students know what to expect as they work their way through the activities as well as an opportunity to self-reflect at the end.
