Task cards are suitable for use in Learning Centers/Stations, can be projected for group learning, can be printed in color or black and white and of course laminated for use year after year. The cards are presented with multiple choices and fill in the blank. A sequential answer key is also provided.

Build a collection to use over and over again to review with students. This makes an excellent dismissal activity: have students seated and silent with all their belongings ready to go. Have each student answer a Task Card question correctly before they can line up.

Two unique Synonym Matching worksheets can be used as learning activities or assessments (answer keys provided). Missing Word Mystery (sentence completion) worksheet and Vocabulary Quiz are also provided (with answer keys) and can be used as assessments or practice activities.

Synonym Scramble Worksheets (2 unique) are provided. To support the students, a synonym hint is provided for each word scramble. These activities can provide enrichment for higher level students or “I’m Done, What Now?” activities for all learners.

Key Word Shapes, Part Of Speech Tables, Mats and Posters are also provided. These can be used in several ways. Students should use scissors to cut out the shapes, which do not need to be color or laminated. Posters can be placed around the classroom and students take turns taping one word shape to the poster matching its part of speech. At their desks, or using a document camera, students can sort the words into categories by Part of Speech, by number of syllables, alphabetize, etc. The use of manipulative Key Word Shapes encourages students who struggle with writing, provides useful excuses to get students out of their seats for legitimate reasons, and allows for left-right brain integration and kinesthetic learning. It is also FUN!
