This is a COMPLETE guide to the novel No Way Out from the Bluford Series. My students love these books- they are highly engaging! The activities that go along with it will help student reflect on the novel, but were created to be a jumping off point- and start rich classroom discussions. These are not reading comprehension worksheets! They ask students to form opinions, defend them and think deeper about ideas from the text.
As a result, this unit meet not only guidelines for ELA, but also touches on social skills, like labeling emotions, how those impact others and how current choices impact our future.
This includes 15 student activities total. All chapters have 1 activity to complete, and 5 chapters have 2 activities - so you can choose (let the students choose!) or do both.
All of this study guide aligns to Common Core State Standard ELA. Literacy.SL.9-10.10-6: "Analyze how complex characters develop over the course of a text, interact with others, and advance the theme."
