This document offers 3 pages filled with tons of unique ideas to motivate children who dislike handwriting. Most of these are low prep to no prep ideas. This is great for centers in a classroom or as a handout for practice at home. This was written by a school OT who has a doctorate in OT and works with many reluctant writers!
Many students do not like to write or find it very boring. One of the ways to motivate students to participate in practicing writing neatly is to have students practice their best handwriting with fun activities!
Always make sure you are using your child’s best form and accommodations. All children need to use proper posture and correct layout of writing area. Also use anything that your child uses at school such as correct pencil grasp, adaptive paper and slant board! This kind of practice is about quality (ie: letters on line, correct size letters and spacing) not quantity!
