What do 50 million people per week do? Crossword Puzzles! Get your students involved in this fun and exciting activity that takes a look at the life of Noah Webster.
Your students will enjoy this crossword puzzle honoring the father of the American dictionary. For example, did you know that:
- Webster entered Yale University at age 15
- It took Webster 20 years to write his dictionary, which he published at age 70
- At the time, he went into debt writing the dictionary, as it only sold 2500 copies total
- He thoroughly researched over 20 different languages and traveled throughout Europe
to conduct his research
Crossword puzzle includes a puzzle page with both clues and word bank for students who might need some assistance. In addition to including a completed grid with answers, answers are also included next to clues so that you don't waste time matching clues to a grid to find answers. This is a common problem that frustrates teachers whey they're looking for a specific answer to a given clue.
