This product relates to the story of Noah's Ark and the symbol of the rainbow in the Christian religion.
The main PowerPoint Presentation contains the story and provides opportunity for student interaction and feedback.
- 5 lesson plans each containing a lesson starter to set the scene, main lesson, and plenary. In each lesson plan the relevant PowerPoint Slide is referred to.
Lesson Plan 1 (1 hr duration) - To understand what is a promise and students relate this to real life, e.g. What promises have they made? Have they broken a promise.
There is a PowerPoint Presentation for Lesson 1 and worksheets.
Lesson Plan 2 (1 hr duration)- To understand why Noah is important Christians and why he was chose - includes worksheets.
Lesson Plan 3 (1 hr duration) - Following God's instruction on building the Ark - includes worksheets.
Lesson Plan 4 (1 hr duration) - This lesson is on the flood and after - for students to understand that when God makes a covenant or a promise it will never be broken - students relate this to their own experience, e.g. promising to clean their room or help with chores - includes worksheets.
Lesson Plan 5 (1 hr duration) - Speaking and listening to recount the Noah's story. Differentiated activity - Rewrite/recount story in own words, sequencing paragraphs in the correct order.
Main PowerPoint Presentation - contains the Noah's Ark story with illustrations and students are given the opportunity to provide feedback, elicit from students their views includes inference and how they would react if they knew the world was going to flooded, why do they think people were laughing at Noah and his family etc.
Opportunity for students to describe what is happening in the pictures in preparation for sequencing activity and retelling the story in their own words.
In addition, there is a mini worksheet booklet with extra activities - can be used for revision/assessment.
