A set of six dots that can be used to help with noise level management. Each dot has one of the following statements:
Silence is Golden - Spy Talk - Partner Bubble - Formal Normal - Loud Crowd - Out of Control
In my class, these are tied in a chain using polka dot ribbon to dangle down next to my interactive whiteboard. I use a clothes peg to show the kiddies which sound level we are on and they are great at even reminding me when I need to move the peg for a specific activity: Silence is Golden for morning learning, Loud Crowd for when we are presenting.
I use the labels to represent the following sound levels:
Silence is Golden - absolute silence, not a peep!
Spy Talk - whispering, esp. when we're doing 'Ask 3 Then Me'
Partner Bubble - only your partner should be able to hear you
Formal Normal - general small group voices
Loud Crowd - presenting or some acting
Out of Control - NEVER inside, outside voices only
