Struggling to embed opportunities for students to communicate key design vocabulary ? What about design analysis, designer case studies or deriving meanings and messages from visual communications. These skills are essential in developing critical and creative minds and are sometimes areas Art & Design teachers can rush over in the midst of practical projects. In this task students explore a range of embedded resources that highlight the work, design process and background of Dutch designer Noma Bar. Students apply this knowledge by analyzing a chosen visual communication using key design vocabulary.
Prior knowledge: Students must be introduced to design principles figure ground, contrast and balance. See the 'Figure Ground Poster Project Presentation Slides' (coming soon!).
This assignment is task 01 of a larger unit of work studying design principles and the work of Dutch design Noma Bar. See the 'Figure Ground Poster Project Presentation Slides' for Unit of Work.
