PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

NON-FICTION LESSON: This lesson asks students to consider their future: will they follow their dreams or take the safe and secure route?

The slide show guides you through a balanced discussion that has students explore the positive and negative aspects of following one's passion. They will read Walt Whitman's poem "O Me! O Life!" and view two videos that explore the idea of following their dreams. Next students will read two different articles that explore the other side of the issue, and then view another video that reflects on some of the ideas presented in both articles. Throughout the lesson, students will be guided to reflect on the ideas presented through free-writes.

Included in this package are student handouts and answer keys.
