This package offers 2 way of responding to non-fiction texts.
The first form is a half page response sheet where students write what they have learned while reading. There is space for a picture as well. The form is very basic and good for when first introducing non-fiction.
The second form is focused on identifying the main idea of a non-fiction text. It requires students to identify the main idea and then support their answer through drawings and written explanation of facts learned.
Both forms are excellent ways to introduce students to how to respond to non-fiction and can be used for assessments, literacy centers, or mini-lessons.
