This is a 16 page booklet that my class uses the whole nine weeks to work though as we learn about different text features. The kids get really into learning about Non-Fiction Text Features. I've provided the definitions of the terms already so that you can spend more time as a teacher discussing what they mean, rather than waiting for them to write the definitions.
When I teach these, I read a different non-fiction book and make sure that the book includes the example of which page we are doing. For example, for Types of Print, I pick a book with a lot of bold words. After I read it to them, they grab a non-fiction book and see if they can find that same feature in their book. I usually have preselected a huge stack of books that display most of the features. They go back to their desk and write or illustrate how their book used that text feature.
