During the months of October through January, countries all over the world celebrate special holidays. In this packet, you will learn about different countries, customs, and beliefs surrounding some of the most well-known holidays throughout the world.
Pgs 3-8: Print, laminate, and bind these pages to create a short, informative, book. Target reading or auditory comprehension by following up each short text with the comprehension questions.
Pgs 9-10: Quick game of “I have.. Who has..?” Directions on pg 10.
Pgs 11-19: No Prep!! Print these worksheets to target comprehension of facts, details, and key words! These passages differ slightly from the passages in pgs 3-8. Scan the QR codes to watch videos related to each holiday!
Pgs 20-21 No Prep!! Print these pages to create a mini-fact book about the targeted holidays. Students can fill-in-the-blanks on the pages, color the images, and cut along the lines to complete their books.
Pg 22: Use this Venn Diagram to compare & contrast holidays of your choice.
Pgs 23-24: Cut images from page 23 and paste onto the describing web on pg 24. Fill in each circle with facts and details about that holiday.
Pg. 25: Vocabulary Match-Up: Cut out the words and definitions. Have students match the vocabulary words with their definition. Be creative! I like to have my students look for the word or definition in hidden locations throughout my classroom.
Pg. 26: Vocabulary Match-Up worksheet: Draw a line from the vocabulary word to it’s matching definition. Each student can create an original sentence with a word of their choice.
