I use this at the beginning of my "Energy and Resources" unit in Environmental Science in a flipped lesson. I have students watch two videos--"Fossil Fuels 101" by Student Energy (2:42) and "Renewable Energy 101" by Student Energy (1:31). They complete the WAL (write-a-long) and answer some additional questions beyond what's in the video.
Note that the videos do go a bit fast, so you will need to encourage students to utilize pause and to go back as often as needed in the video to catch all of the information.
The videos are a nice introduction to fossil fuels and renewable energy sources--a great springboard into a unit that dives deeper into such topics.
