Non standard measurement center mini book
Hit the first grade standard (1.MD.A2) in a fun and engaging way that will get kids really showing what they know about non-standard measurement! This mini book gives students a chance to identify correct and incorrect ways to measure length and most importantly justify their thinking!
This product includes two versions of the same mini book. Each version includes directions (for if you choose to set it up as a center), 8 different paper clip measurement examples with space for justification, a mini book cover, and a conclusion page. You can examples of each of these in the thumbnails above.
All you have to do is print and copy. Students complete the pages of their mini book, cut them apart, and staple it together. My students have loved sharing their books with partners, adult visitors, and me!
I've tried to make this product as easy to differentiate with as possible!
This is why there are two versions of the same book. One version has students circle the word right or wrong and then write their reason. The other version leaves space for students to write correct or incorrect and then elaborate their reason. You might choose to give struggling students 4 pages to include in their book while high achievers can have 8 pages of examples in their book. There is also an answer key with possible justifications.
