I have produced a series of graphic organizers to be used with non fiction texts as a reading response activity. Some are designed to be used as a progression others could be stand alone. They are to develop your students understanding of text structure and features, how to identify and summarize facts, vocabulary work, making predictions before reading, making connections, thinking about fact and opinion, authors purpose and comparing fiction and non fiction texts. There are 13 organizers in total.
I will be using these in my reading rotation activities. The way I use them is after teaching the students the skill I want them to use they complete the graphic organizer as one of their reading activities.
