This project offers students a lot of choice, and it WILL get them interacting with non-fiction texts of your/their choice. It helps them analyze author's craft, intent, and purpose in many ways.
Students/teachers choose ANY non-fiction topic/subject-based book (cars, sports, etc.) or non-fiction narrative (even auto/biography). Students read, finish sentence starters regarding point of view and author's purpose, make check-mark choices that cause reflection on the text structure/organization, and best of all is that they will take notes by choosing their very own VIP's (very important points). Response forms can be filled in as students read or when they're finished, creating an end of book project.
See my facebook page, Reading Response Creations, for a video of the pages included in this product!!
