Have students complete the close reading worksheet that guides them through the systematic process of analyzing tone with Global Warming article speech. (in class or as homework)
1. Divide students into groups of 4-6 to discuss their answers. Have each group lead a discussion on each of the different questions

ANNOTATION FOR INFORMATIONAL TEXTS

Common Core Aligned. This package includes a a variety of resources to help students develop active reading skills and annotation techniques for informational texts. PPT lecture explains the strategies for active reading and techniques for annotations. Student notes outline each step for annotating texts. Aligned graphic organizer is provided for students to consolidate their annotations. This 4-5 day unit teaches the fundamentals of analyzing informational text with the unique acrostic "R.E.A.D.S"
