The preview is the 6 week calendar I used in my class. The date on the calendar coordinates to the date of the materials saved in the folder. So it should be easy to figure out what to teach on each day.
This has EVERYTHING you need to teach this unit. All the guided notes and PowerPoints are included as well as MC assessments, OER questions, and expository essay questions.
This unit is geared towards minorities and discusses the different stereotypes and segregation still in existance in our society today. Each article has guided reading questions that are scaffolded to meet every students need (low, medium and high). This allows the students to get the most out of their reading. Lower students are asked more MC questions which are geared towards identifying devices and comprehension, while higher students are asked more open ended questions that require them to analyze and make connections with other texts and the world.
The duration of the unit is 6 weeks; however, my school is run on a block schedule, so each class is planned for 110 minutes.
Answer keys are sometimes saved as an additional document, while other times they are the last page of the word document. Be aware of this.
MISSING FROM THIS UNIT: Vocabulary and lesson plans. The vocabulary resources were not made by me, and the lesson plans were very specific to my school, so I did not feel like having them would benefit anyone. Plus the template was made by my district.
