Summary of Unit:
This unit was designed to expose students to nonfiction literature and its many unique features. It provides students with information about nonfiction literature, including its purpose, characteristics, and how it differs from fiction literature, and allows students the opportunity to practice utilizing nonfiction literature to gather information on a selected topic. This unit aligns with the Common Core Standards for English Language Arts for upper elementary and middle school grades.
