PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a fun book report that allows students to pick a nonfiction book of their choice, take notes, and then transform it into a giant newspaper cover! This product aligns with 25 of the ELA Common Core Standards, and can be as simple as a student directed project, or a guided reading group project, or even an independent homework assignment. Students will enjoy learning about a nonfiction topic of their interest, and will love making a unique newspaper cover to be presented (if teacher's choose) and displayed!

This product includes the following:

2 Teacher Notes Page
ELA Common Core Standards Description page
Student Directions Page for the newspaper report and for writing a simple bibliography
Student Planning Forms to take notes & organize their thoughts
Newspaper templates for students to write their final draft on
Photograph examples of a newspaper cover
2 Rubrics-one which can be used to grade the newspaper report only and another that incorporates a presentation grade

This is aimed for third graders, but could be modified for second fourth, and fifth graders as well. My students loved this project and I hope yours do also! I would greatly appreciate your feedback!
