This file contains 35 non-fiction passages to help students learn how to find evidence from the text. Each page includes a reading passage and a box that will tell them two things to highlight with a crayon. After they find the evidence from the text and highlight it, then they will answer the two questions at the bottom of the page. The lexile levels range from 210L to 620L.
These passages are best used in 2nd or 3rd grade, but can be used with advanced 1st graders. English Learners could benefit from reading these passages at any grade level.
These passages can be used in small groups, as independent work, as morning work, or can be sent home for homework. This is great practice for finding text evidence and reading non-fiction passages.
