These visuals can be cut out and used to create an effective small bulletin board or classroom poster. Have them on display all year to reinforce the purpose of each text feature!
Directions: Cut out each of text features/descriptions. (You can laminate for long standing bulletin boards, or for reuse) Find a magazine article (or several) with examples of the text features that you would like to cover. Post the article on a small bulletin board or on an anchor chart and adhere the text features. For a fun, 3-D effect, use yarn or string and push pins to "draw" lines between the text feature name/description and the example.
or.. for student projects, have students use the labels to create their own text feature posters.
