These GREAT sets will address many things: non-fiction text features, non-fiction reading, and applying what has been learned.

• Students read non-fiction passages about the subjects (listed in more detail below) and use text features to complete task cards.
• The reading passages are designed to resemble magazine pages with colorful photos, clipart, and sections.
• The task cards are also color-coded. The task cards include multiple choice answers and open-ended challenges.
• Multiple choice cards include: determining the type of non-fiction text feature in the article and basic comprehension questions.
• There are also open-ended task cards that make use of non-fiction text features. Open-ended tasks include: writing sentences; writing paragraphs; creating tables and charts; drawing and labeling; drawing timelines; comparing with charts, tables, or Venn diagrams; creating a mini glossary; writing descriptions, and more!
