Informational Text or Nonfiction Text Features Digital or Print is a unit of study written to closely at informational text standards such as asking and answering questions in text, author's purpose, text features, images for increased meaning, supporting evidence, and comparing and contrasting text on the same topic. This unit will take about 4 weeks to complete. It may take longer if you choose to spend more time on specific standards, or if you are integrating science or social studies.

✤ Any nonfiction books may be used for this unit of study. The Internet is also an option.

There are several graphic organizers that increase in complexity. You are the best judge of the ability of your students. The variety is available for offering you a choice. It is not meant to all be used at the same time. The time frame is also a suggestion. Be sure to go at whatever pace makes sense for you and your students.
