One of the many skills first graders learn is how to read and respond to nonfiction texts. I love teaching using nonfiction texts! Usually my kiddos love them too ;)
Using this organizer, students will dive back into the text to search for interesting facts, offer their opinion about the book or topic, and then think about what other questions they may still have after reading.
I usually use this organizer within my guided reading groups, because it can be differentiated and I can give support where it's needed. I included 3 structure options for this page: one that has places for sentences and pictures, one for only sentences, and one for only pictures. Those make it super easy to use with all my groups!
Enjoy! Please leave feedback if you have any questions or suggestions!
