Learning Objective

Using signal words or other clues from the text, students will read ten nonfiction passages and identify the text structure used by the author.

This is the DIGITAL version of my informational text structure assessment that is compatible with Google Forms. This resource contains 10 passages. Students are directed to read each paragraph and identify the informational text structure used by the author.

It addresses the following five text structures:

→ Sequence

→ Compare and Contrast

→ Cause and Effect

→ Problem and Solution

→ Description

How it Works:

Begin by using the link I've provided to add the Google Form to your Google Drive. Then, assign the Google Form to your students by sharing a link, sending an email, or using Google Classroom. Google Forms are paperless and self-grading. As students complete the activity, grades and data are collected automatically. You will be able to see each student's answers. You will also be able to analyze each question, and view how many students answered each question correctly and incorrectly.
