This comprehensive set of notes took years to fully develop. It explains the concept of nonfiction text structures and organizational patterns. Detailed notes are included for chronological, compare/contrast, problem/solution, cause/effect, and main idea/details. For each type of organizational pattern, there are examples of graphic organizers that best suit that style of nonfiction writing as well as a list of signal words.
