This nonfiction guide was designed to help teachers prepare their students for Common Core extended response questions. It was also designed to help teachers make digital connections to literature.
The guide includes a link to an online nonfiction article.
Six guiding questions are provided that can be the basis for whole class discussion or individual student essay response. Questions focus on supporting details, main idea, context clues, inference, and text structure.
An extension idea is provided in the form of a link that allows students to watch a video to review proper hand washing and to interactively practice the skill online.
The guide closes with the six guiding questions on three printable pages with plenty of room for written responses. An answer key is also provided.
