This game is similar to What’s Gnu.
It works best to cut out each word family card and letter on card stock and then laminate them.
Instructions: Scramble the letter times and sort them into two equal piles. Shuffle each pile. Each student gets four word family cards. One player can serve as Dealer to pick the top letter from each pile. The Dealer faces the letter cards up and outward so all students can see. Students look over their word family cards and try to be the first to call out a three-letter real or nonsense word using one of the two letters revealed by the dealer. The first player to call out a word takes the letter from the Dealer and places it on their word family card. The player to fill all of his/her word family cards wins.
I like to have my students write all of the words they create on the table.
I hope you enjoy!
