How to Play: Cut out category labels on slide 12 (last slide). Have students sound out the word on the card. Have the students draw a card and decide if the word is a real word or a nonsense word. If the student is unsure have them ask a friend, or look up the word using a dictionary. The students take turns deciding if the word is real or nonsense. When they run out of cards (or time) have them decide if there were more real words or nonsense words.
Bonus: CH, SH, TH, ING, and WH diagraph words (real and nonsense) can also be used to differentiate the game for more advanced students.
