This document is the guide for day 1 of a multi-day workshop where participants can make-and-take their own ready-to-use Normalometer. Day 1 of the workshop has participants wire and solder together the electrical components of the Normalometer.

The Normalometer is a small (2"x1"x.5"), lightweight, and rugged classroom/lab ready sensor and display that uses an internal accelerometer to show how the Normal force contributes to resulting motion. The Normalometer is constructed of low cost and open source parts. While the Normalometer can be added to existing physics demonstrations and lab equipment, it is just as powerful as students walk, jump, spin, swing their arms, shake, throw, and drop the Normalometer.
