In the lesson, North America, students will explore the experiences of Native Americans during the U.S. Colonial period. Connections are made to current U.S. practices in a diverse multicultural society.
1) Understand the importance of cultural acceptance and how we treat people from other cultures today.
2) Understand the relationship between Native Americans and colonists.
3) Understand the ways in which Native Americans were treated unfairly in the colonial time period.
