This project is designed to meet the needs of AIG (gifted) students for the area of ELA. It is a couple of months in length and will challenge students to take an era in NC History and synthesize and analyze people, events, conflicts, inventions/technology, transportation, change/growth, government, and agriculture and industries.
This outline for the project will guide your students through the thinking process during research. There are planning pages that help students plan a virtual museum of their era.
As a teacher, you will need to teach your students how to transfer information from the outline to the powerpoint program.
As a culmination, you can set up your powerpoints in chronological order, adding artifacts and costumes to present to classes or an entire school. Laptops are a must for presentations.
An additional resource is now available.
The name is North Carolina Powerpoint and Wax museum project resources. It includes a grading rubric for the research.
A couple of additional resources are available. One is a paid resource and is called North Carolina Wax Museum Resources and another is free, North Carolina Wax Museum Powerpoint.
