Product Description
Encourage your students to learn more about North Carolina Natural Resources with this easy to use research project. I originally created this project for my 4th graders to use as a review of natural resources found in North Carolina. Prior to this project, students have read and learned about natural resources found in our state.

This research project meets 4th Grade NC Social Studies Essential Standard:
4.G.1.2 Explain the impact that human activity has on the availability of natural resources in North Carolina
and 4th Grade Common Core ELA Standard:
W.4.2 Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly.

Materials Included:
•Directions for using the project
•Assignment sheet with list of all natural resources found in North Carolina

5 pages of background information and activity pages
•What are Natural Resources?
•Renewable or Non-Renewable Resources?

To make internet searching safe and easy, I used Google’s URL Shortener to create easy to type websites for students. These are located on the 28 natural resource cards that you will assign to students. These are websites my students use to complete their research, and I have personally checked each website to make sure it is appropriate for students to view. I have also enclosed a separate PDF file of just the cards for you to share with students if you choose to do so. Students can easily click each link within the PDF of the cards.

***You will need internet access for students to complete this project.

TIP: Print or copy the 28 Natural Resources Research Cards on cardstock and laminate for durability.
