This unit has short answer questions for all 17 NC river basins that go with this page here
http://www.eenorthcarolina.org/riverbasins.html
Each question page is 2-4 pages long and goes specifically with each basin. The questions cover science and historical significance of each basin. Topics covered include point and non point pollution, history of the area, conservation methods, tributaries and headwaters, aquatic, terrestrial, and endangered sciences in the area. Endemic species, tourism and activities to do in each area, natural resources and designated wildlife areas. Questions are from a wide range of depth of knowledge areas.
There are two projects included in this unit.(Sample shows one rubric only) One is a tourism project with 4 different options and customizable rubrics. They are very detailed and can easily be used for differentiation and different learning styles.
The second project is more difficult. They have to analyze a river or river basin, identity water quality issues and causes, create a timeline of the area and create an action plan to decrease pollution in the area and increase endangered and threatened animal species.
