Product Description
This activity is an introduction to the North Carolina State Constitution. For students, it's hard to understand the constitution in its own wording. I have rewritten it in words that students can understand and comprehend. The background of our state constitution is given with regards to the 3 times it has been written. The three branches of government are included and it's importance to our state and national government.

Vocabulary words included: amendment & revision

The product is broken down into sections based on each time the constitution was written and the major amendments that were set forth at the time.

Students are given 16 questions to answers - multiple choice and open-ended. An answer key is included!

At the end, there is an extra activity for students to complete about the purpose of our state constitution.

This product aligns perfectly with 4th Grade North Carolina Essential Standards for Social Studies.

This product is also included in my {Bundled} North Carolina Government Unit found at the link below.
