Directions: Put your class into groups of 3-4. Make a copy of the board for each group. These boards are generic and can be used with any of my board card games. Copy cards on card stock and laminate for years of use.
*Assign a student who will be the Host of the game. This person will ask the questions in the game and decide whether the answers are correct. Make a copy of the Answer Key for the Host. **Answers have to be exact to get it correct. For example: State Horse – NOT just Mustang but Colonial Spanish Mustang**
*The student with the least amount of letters in their name, goes first.
*Use one dice to play. (According to Modern Dictionary terms, “dice” can be used for singular or plural) Roll the dice and move that amount of spaces and do what the space states. Ex. Card: Host reads a card and if the player gets the answer correct, move forward 2 and if they get it wrong, they move back 3.
*If you land on Roll Again, then roll again and do what space states. If you land on a blank, then the turn goes to the next player. If you land on Lose a Turn, you are skipped the next go around as well as that turn.
*Continue the game until someone reaches the finish line. If your total on the dice move you past the finish line, you have to answer 3 questions to WIN but remember – EVERYONE WINS if they gained the knowledge of the North Carolina State Symbols.
