This webquest is meant to give your students an introduction of the NC State Symbols. It can also be used in conjunction with T is for Tarheel, by Carol Crane & Gary Palmer. The livebinder is set-up to give students a basis for research. You do not have to use the LB, but it certainly steers your students in the right direction for research, while keeping them away from Wikipedia.
In my classroom I have students complete this independently or with partners.
This activity is aligned to the Social Studies Essential Standard 4.H.2 "Understand how notable structures, symbols, and place names are significant to North Carolina".
This activity is 21 questions about the symbols of North Carolina. An answer key is included.
