I am currently teaching a course called history through film. I had been looking for something that my students would really enjoy and still learn American history. I tried HBO's John Adams, we watched it, discussed and learned. But the students were not totally into the program. Then I tried North and South and from the beginning the class was totally into the show. I looked all over the internet for questions or lesson plans for the series and I couldn't find it, so I decided I would make a complementary worksheet with questions ranging on the depth of knowledge scale that will keep the class accountable while enjoying learning history through the eyes of the characters.
