Product Description
This Warm Up/Review Lesson uses images from a 1937 first day cover –an envelope with a commemorative stamp, appropriate postmark and artwork depicting the topic—which will allow students to explore the Northwest Ordinance: what territories were created, what rights would those citizens have, who were the major leaders in organizing the territories and where was the first settlement. Students will also draw conclusions as to the impact that this law will have on the institution of slavery, Native Americans and future territorial acquisitions. As a conclusion to the study of the Articles of Confederation students can discuss other laws or actions passed by the Confederation Congress that still exist today
