I wrote this 4th/5th grade level reading about Norway for a dyslexic 5th grade student to enjoy.
The simple black font (Arial size 14) and 1.5 line spacing ensure that the reading can be enjoyed by those with visual sensitivities. Challenging words are spread out throughout the reading to prevent fatigue, and it’s packed with fun facts and written engagingly to keep readers' attention.
The reading is suitable for decoding/fluency practice or reading comprehension practice. Students should be comfortable with prefixes and intermediate-level suffixes to get the most out of this reading.
The file contains no photos, so as to not exhaust purchasers' ink supplies. You can easily print out photos that match the story if you so choose- or even better, show photos on a large screen that allows for zooming in.
