Absolutely the best first day of school English lesson ever!

This introduction lesson is perfect for the first day of freshman or sophomore English because it enables the teacher to get to know his/her students while also briefly introducing students to many of the elements of the class that will be studied this year, such as poetry, theme, metaphor, irony, the rhetorical triangle, grammatical conventions of standard American English, and satire.

Best news of all: It meets all NINE OF the following Common Core Standards for ELA 9-10!
