To provide students with concise reviews of previous lessons on the Colonial Period and the Revolutionary War Period.
2 class periods
The class will be divided into five teams. Five headings –– Card 1, Card 2, Card 3, Card 4, and Card 5 –– are put on the board. Numbers 1-10 are listed under each heading.
Team 1 will try to identify the missing words and names on Card 1. Meanwhile, Teams 2-5 will work on Cards 2-5, respectively. Team members cannot talk over possible answers.
Students can use the "Words and Names List" on 42D to look for the answers.
Each correct answer earns a team 10 points. A perfect score is 100. The team that scores the most points wins GAME 1. Time limit: 15 minutes.
GAME 2 –– Cards 6-10 –– will be played in the same way.
I always use Card 11 as a contest or homework assignment.
Easy-to-follow Teacher Instructions and answer key included.
